Adrenal Stress

Is your Health being compromised due to
Stress causing Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome or
Adrenal Exhaustion

It’s very important to know the difference between these two conditions as they require very different therapeutic approaches as adrenal fatigue is a sympathetic nervous system problem while adrenal exhaustion is a parasympathetic problem.

Adrenal Insufficiency: A Chronic Sympathetic Stress Response
When you are exposed to stress whether mental, emotional, chemical/nutritional, structural/physical or even electro-magnetic it stimulates the Sympathetic fight or flight system. The result is overproduction of acid throughout the tissues. The hypothalamic-pituitary axis of the brain is over stimulated causing the release of adrenal hormones. During periods of prolonged stress there is a prolonged increase of cortisol, which is known to suppress thyroid function and reduce sensitivity of the brain centers to inhibition feedback. In other word this problem just gets worse and worse.

When your body experiences a prolonged increase of cortisol and adrenaline it shows up in a Biological Terrain Test as a loss of magnesium, potassium and calcium. You’ll also test for high oxidative stress along with carbohydrate/sugar malabsorption and increase in fat.

So what happens when your body is exposed to prolonged increases of cortisol and adrenaline? First off you’ll experience impaired immune function as noted by decreases in the levels of interleukins, natural killer cell activity, T-lymphocytes and secretory IgA. At the same time there is increases in antigen penetration circulating IgA. And to top it off you’ll also experience increases in:

  • Blood sugar – decreases insulin sensitivity
  • Bone loss
  • Blood fast (cholesterol, triglycerides)
  • Fat accumulation (especially at the waist)
  • Fluid retention
  • Protein breakdown

The adrenal symptoms you’re likely to manifest when you experiencing Adrenal Stress are:

  • Increased predisposition for infections
  • Osteoporotic tendencies
  • Loss of lean mass
  • Hyperlipidemia · Edema
  • Increased allergies
  • Poor glucose utilization · Obesity
  • Poor carbohydrate utilization

There are a couple of appropriate NUTRI-THERAPIES for Adrenal Stress:
1. Apex Energetics: Cortico-Zyme and Super-B-Zyme along with Adrenal Terrain
2. Nutriwest: Pro-cortisol Balance and Vanachrome with Adreno-Lyph sym

Chronic Adrenal Exhaustion is a Parasympathetic Stress Response

In this situation the same stressors – mental/emotional, chemical/nutritional, structural/physical and electro-magnetic – stimulate the sympathetic system to over produce acid throughout the tissues which in turn stimulates the hypothalamus-pituitary axis of the brain to release adrenal hormone. In this case the result is prolonged decrease of cortisol that causes minimal inhibition feedback. If this condition is prolonged there is a consequential decrease of adrenaline that is seen as poor ATP (energy) function, protein and fat malabsorption and lean decrease

In the case of prolonged decreases in Cortisol and Adrenaline you’ll experience the tell tale symptoms of Hypoglycemia which include:

  • Hunger
  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Poor protein absorption and poor fat absorption.

You immune system becomes dysfunctional which manifests as:

  • Allergies
  • Inflammation
  • Lowered resistance to infection
  • Mental symptoms include: · Irritability
  • Impaired concentration and memory
  • Anxiety and severe lethargy
  • Insomnia – waking up at night.

You can tell if you’re in Adrenal exhaustion physically by symptoms such as:

  • Headaches
  • Heart palpitation
  • PMS
  • Orthostatic hypotension
  • Low libido
  • Difficult orgasms
  • Pale complexion
  • Cold extremities
  • Chronic hypotension

In the case of Adrenal Exhaustion appropriate supplementation would be either:
1. Apex Energetics: Adreno Zyme and Super – B – Zyme along with Adrenal Terrain
2. Nutriwest: DSF and Vanachrome, with Adreno-Lyph Para
